His melodies reflect those of Elliott Smith to whom Vice tributed in Los Angeles 2006 on the anniversary of Smith's death. He first began playing at the tender age of four, and uses his experience of bluesy finger picking to create emotionally beautiful songs with echoes of Dylan. With a raw, and often impromtu recording approach, his style can easily be compared to that of Conor Oburst (Bright Eyes).
